A root kit is a part or a piece of software that is automatically installed and gets hidden on your computer without your permission and knowledge. Its simply a automated computer program, or a coded robot that can be controlled, informed ad commanded by the specific and external resources .attackers usually get access to the system by infecting your computer by some corrupt or virus code, you never knows that you computer could be the part of the bot network because it operates normally while getting completely accessed. The most common purpose of the botnets is to commence the specific range of tasks or activities with the help of spam and multiple kinds of viruses

Why considered as threats
The most important problem with the root kits and botnets is that they are hidden .botnets are not hidden but you cannot directly detect them unless your look for or track any specific activity. Root kits have the advantage that they cannot be detected by the traditional anti virus software that you are using for the security purpose .you need more sophisticated anti virus code for the proper protections. Now a days attacker are also working on the code to form more advanced root kits that could have the ability to automatically update themselves. Root kits can be used for multiple purposes too .te most dangerous part is that they can extend the range of hacking crimes and illegal use of confidential information

There are several ways in which you can protect yourself and your computer system by botnets and root kits. Some of them are listed below.

Try to use highly efficient antivirus and update and maintain it properly. One of the simplest ways to keep your system safe is the use of antivirus program that you can install. This would help you to timely detect and remove the infection code or virus before it penetrates in your system. You can also install firewalls which also provide good security in combination with anti virus soft wares.

Use strong passwords always put strong password on the sensitive settings and your accounts when you are habitual of working online and never choose the option of remember me while signing in and working with you accounts and settings.

Regularly update soft wares. All the applications and system soft wares are required to be updated regularly for the proper protection of your system form root kits and botnets. Many system offer automatic updates don’t forget to choose that option.

Good security habits always practice some good security habits to protect your self properly such as maintenance, proper shut down, screen passwords, updating, proper file closing and regular sign outs.
It one of the misfortune that when root kits are installed on your system there is no other way to remove them instead of removing the entire operating system and then reinstall all system and application soft wares. it almost impossible to totally y recover from this.
