Benefits of cloud computing
Post by Jawad Ahmad Riaz
Cloud computing is not a product rather it is a service which is provided over a network which is mostly the internet or intranet. There are three main types of cloud computing.
- Public Clouds
- Private Clouds
- Inter-clouds or Hybrid Clouds
All of these types are beneficial for different type of users. Public clouds are used when the services are provided to general public. In this type there is no limitation about the users. But in contrast to this type private clouds are used. These are used for a single organization and can be managed by the employees of that organization or any third party can be hired to handle this.
These are not as much preferred yet because the users of these clouds have to buy, build, and manage them and because of these things the cost of using clouds increase. The last one is Hybrid or Inter clouds. In these clouds two clouds are linked together. They work solely as individuals but at the end the benefits of these two clouds are linked together so that they can serve the users in a better way.
Cloud computing is rapidly changing its serving purposes in the eyes of its users. There was a time when it was considered as a futuristic technology but now days it is a commercially viable alternative for different companies. With the use of cloud computing now companies are cutting down their costs and getting better solutions. They now have better ways to store their data and information without using any physical storage medium with them. The access to that stored data and information is very easy and fast as well.
Benefits of Cloud computing
If we have to highlight the main benefits of cloud computing then the list will be as followed.
It always start with cost reduction, then move to scalability, automatic updates, remote access to data, disaster relief, ease of implementation, skilled vendors, reduced response time, safe playing field for small firms, quality of service, skilled practitioners, frees up internal resources and Lego etc.
When we are using cloud computing then we do not have to own the infrastructure that we are using. Instead of this we just use to rent it and pay a small amount for using it. The very main reason of using cloud computing by different organization is reduced cost. †As they never have enough budgets for the technological expenses therefore they use these methods, so that they can help their customers and staff, and can provide better services to their customers. Remote access to data is the biggest benefit of cloud computing for companies and customers as well. They both donít have to think about the locations. They can access the required info about each other easily from any place. This benefit gives ease to both of them.
The safe storage of data is very sensitive issue for all the companies. They never want to disclose some secrets of their firm to anyone else, especially to the rival firms. For this purpose cloud computing is helping a lot. As your data is not stored in your office system so access to that is not easy for external sources. Beside this any natural disaster cannot damage the data. Itís just internet that is needed to start again with all your needed information that is stored using cloud computing. If you are using cloud computing then there is no need to hire an IT specialist to look over all your work. Because the hired company for cloud computing is specialized in its work, so you donít have to think about any internal specialist for controlling everything. And this technique is not only beneficial for large scale firm but with that small industries can also use it. It wouldnít affect their budget or increase the cost. Lego is a well know game that children use to play, so that they make anything that they imagine. Same like that one benefit that cloud computing is providing to companies is customization. They can select anything from the infrastructure that is needed by their business. ††advertisemet
