Mobile QOS - Mobile quality of service
Mobile QOS is actually Mobile Quality of Service. As telecommunication provides service of fast electronic communication of messages at a long distance this saves up the time, labor, and security. Further there are many mechanisms for controlling these telecommunication services and their performance leads to the quality of service. Mobile service providers also provide this service for fixed line PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and Internet Service Providers (ISP). For non-elastic services and circuit switched services QOS mechanisms are also provided.

Maintenance of the Quality:
To maintain the quality of service one have to face many difficulties especially when it’s Mobile network. And mainly QOS is judged by users so it is very important to maintain it from a customer’s point of view. So to make this job easy some standard metrics are created to the user that can be measured to rate QOS. Following are the standard metrics:
The coverage: Signal strength is measured in the coverage with the help of test equipment and these will leas us to the size of the cell.
Accessibility: it is about fixing the network to handle accurate calls from mobile to fixed networks and from mobile to mobile networks.
Audio Quality: For a period of time a successful call is monitored for the clarity of communication channel.
So, these indicators help the telecommunication industry to measure the quality of service of a network.
Tools or Methods for Testing of Quality of Service (QOS):
Other than standard ways of testing the quality of service the industry also measure from the perspective of an expert for example a teletraffic engineer. His job is to see weather the quality which is asked by the planner for the target is delivered properly or not. For this certain tools and methods are introduced.
Protocol analysers: To check problems in cellular network protocol analysers are attached to, BSCs BTSs ,and MSCs. On discovering a problem the staff records it and then analyses it.
Drive tests: There is a team of people who take the role of users and test the QOS of mobile network. Then they rate it accordingly. It is always a statistical sample because these tests do not apply to the whole network.
Operation and Maintenance measurements Centres (OMCs): For various events which provide the network operator with the information of state and quality of network, counters are used in the system.
Need of Mobile QOS:
In order to support mobile multimedia applications in next generation wireless IP-based networks, it is necessary to deliver flawless voice, video and data at high quality. Therefore, Quality of Service for mobile end systems is required. There is a new problem approaching and solving technique .we can use in the place of tight coupling. It’s modified QoS signaling mechanism with a specific mobility mechanism, a more general form of the solution which could be long term as well and its also fully tested. The connection-less IP network layer is enhanced by a lightweight and truly optional connection-oriented mobile network service, which offers the possibility to establish soft state connections at the network layer. Hence, a connection-oriented network service is available within radio access network (RAN) architecture to all end systems mobile or fixed independent of the application. Thereby, it is possible to integrate QoS and connectivity signaling for mobile end systems, as well as other connection-oriented services like explicit routing or load balancing.
Conclusion:
Mobile Quality of service depends upon the team responsibility how they took step to make their service better by taking feed backs and setting standards. Updating is one of the key processes to keep the mobile QOS accurate and better.
