Mobile Tracking System
Mobile phone tracking system is used to locate the position of a mobile phone no matter if someone is moving or stationary. In order to contact the nearby local towers, the mobile phone should emit roaming signals. However in order to track the cell phone it is not compulsory for a user to busy making active calls.
The Technology of Mobile Tracking
The mobile phone tracking technology works on the principle of delivering roaming and wireless signals to the nearest base station at all times. The cell towers try to recognize the signals and the nearest tower catches the signal. When the location of the phone is changed the antennas carefully monitor the working of the tower and the signal is transferred along the next towers. More advanced phone tracking systems are able to track the sector of the user as well. This tracking system is also able to track the distance of the mobile user from the base station. The efficient tracking is also dependent upon the density of the cell towers. The cell towers situated in rural are placed at large distance, moreover these the total number of towers is also less. This is the reason why it is difficult to locate the position of the mobile user. GSM localization is also a common practice to trace the location of the user.
Localization Systems
GSM users can be easily tracked by GSM localization. Therefore three basic technologies can help to track the user. These technologies can be categorized as Network based Handset and Hybrid systems. The network based system is based on the infrastructure of the service provider, which helps in locating the user. These systems can be used without the unperturbed without harming the signal quality of mobile phone users. The network based technique has further two sub categories one is triangulation and the second one is cell identification. Triangulation is a much accurate technique because it helps in locating the mobile by measuring the angle of mobile from the fixed base station. More over the accuracy of the system is further dependent upon the number of base stations in any vicinity. The handset base technology can only be used if the customer is using the cell phone which has the pertinent software in order to determine the position of the mobile phone user or handset. This technique is based on the principle of cell identification the signal strength is calculated by neighboring mobiles or in case of GPS the latitude and longitude of the mobile set is helpful in determining the location of the user. The hybrid system is the amalgamation of network based system and handset based technologies. Assisted Global Positioning System is an example of one such system.
Advantages of Mobile Tracking System
The technological advancement in mobile phone technologies has taken them beyond the conversation tool. The introduction of mobile phone services such as GPS and GPRS has also helped in tracking the mobile phones via satellite. The broadcasting of radio signals even when the phone is not on a call makes it possible for the tracker technologies to make use of its signals toe determine where it is. This technology makes it possible for the tracker to locate any user carrying the handset if the set is equipped with this technology. Mobile tracking is useful for trade and fleet mangers to track the location of their moving vehicles. It is also possible to trace the burglar getting away with your vehicle or cell phone. Cell phone mobile tracking is also used to track the position of teenagers; hence parents can provide urgent assistance to them.
