What is Mobile IP
Post by Jawad Ahmad Riaz
Internet is a part and need of our lives now. The more it is portable the more it is required. To make it possible experts try to fit it in smaller devices like mobile phones, palm tops etc.
What Is IP
IP address is a protocol standard set by programmers for proper format followed by web developers across the globe. Mobile IP is one of the technologies which support various mobile data and applications dealing with wireless. A good example is GPRS, it entirely depends upon this technology because to enable a message conveyance to a GPRS device via the SGNS from the GGSN without the needing to know the serving node IP address. To make wireless efficient and accurately function a communication between mobile node device and the packet data network (PDN) should work properly such as the Internet.
What Is Mobile Ip
Mobile IP offers big freedom to its clients or users in roaming when the are away from their homes .It also enable transparent routing for successfully building up the connection with the help of internet protocol to globally access the home IP.
Working Of Mobile Ip:
Mobile IP node works same as a normal IP address to follow the same protocol. To accomplish this, a visited network is created as a foreign node and home network as the home node. This IP follow a flow line protocol to convey messages from PDN to mobile node’s IP address. This was made possible by the way of routing these messages to the foreign node for delivery via tunneling the original IP address inside a packet destined for the temporary available IP assigned too mobile node by the foreign node. With the help of agent discovery process, the home agents and foreign agent advertise their services on the network. This enables the home agent to recognize when a new foreign agent is allowed the mobile node to register a new care of address. This method makes communication better between mobile node and applications residing in the PDN. Due to this wireless connection is always-on.
This technology fixes the functionality of packet equipment for 2.5G and 3G. Also IP helps advanced applications such as unified messaging.
Example:
To understand the concept and use of mobile IP let us consider someone changes their location. Along with his location his postal address will change but his mailing address will not change because that mailing address is stored and booked somewhere in database with his own assigned IP address. This gives him an ease to take with him his data without any difficulty.
