Difference in Mac OS and Windows with Mac Perspective

Mac operating system and Windows are compared on many bases in order to prove which one is better. No solid statement can be however passed to clearly declare that one is better than the other. For example suppose we can not say entirely on the basis of our analysis that Windows is better than the Mac OS. Both operating systems have their own vulnerabilities and strengths. This strengths and weaknesses also bring them in strong and healthy competition in the market. Therefore both the companies come up with more improvement and innovation every year. Windows have various versions of OS so as the Mac and both are compared in terms of design, security and features. Therefore in case of better design and security we can give Mac an edge over the Windows.

Main Difference

The main strength of Mac over the years is its stable operating system designed specifically for its own machines. Mc is prone to fewer security risks as the OS developers are the same people who are busy in the business of making machines. Windows on the other hand is always faced with worst criticism regarding security of its operating system. Most of the version of Windows operating systems like Windows vista and windows XP were criticized due to weak security. The criticism was based on the facts that every windows product is prone to security threats such as Malware, Viruses and worms. Though it constantly tried to improve the products but the main issues remain unresolved. Also Apple has been successful in launching many advanced versions and products based on its remarkable Mac OS X such as iPod and iPhone. The recent launches of Windows 7 arouse great expectations in the users for its superior features that Microsoft promised to deliver. However windows 7 were merely an improvement in the Vista rather than the full package of new features. On the other hand the launch of Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7 are compared on many bases including features, software, management, GUI and security.

Important Differences in Mac and Windows

It is easy to install Mac OS as compared to installing Windows Vista. The reason is Mac OS X only requires the drag and drop of file whereas the installation of the Windows Vista requires Wizard as the chief installations module. If we talk about the customization of Mac it is stable OS and is not capable of providing many customized settings like the Windows do. For example the Mac OS X Leopard has only one theme while windows offer three different themes like Aero, classic and Basic. it must be beard in mind that customization is not a big issue and it is just used to improve the aesthetics of the desktop. The Web browser for windows OS is known as internet Explorer while that of used for Mac Os is known as Safari. The users of safari have an option to directly search from the tool bar by making use of search box in the upper right screen. While windows users are dependent upon using any search engine like Google in order to complete the task.

Security of Mac OS and Windows

 If someone asks me to give points to the Windows and Mac in terms of security I would definitely give Mac more points. A Mac is more responsive in identify the viruses and any security exploits. On the other hand windows efforts to constantly prepare and OS which is not prone to any of the attack of the viruses, Trojans and worms are still under process. Windows have to travel a long way in order to develop the secure system.
