How to install Mac OS on Apple Computers


Mac OS the only operating system which designed specifically for its own machines, that is the Apple computers. The Mac is a highly efficient operating system and it is developed by same people who develop Macintosh PC’s. This has made the software and hardware perfectly compatible for each other. The most recent versions of the Mac operating systems are not at all difficult to install and require almost no effort.

 

Basic Requirements for Installation

Let us assume that we are installing Mac OS X leopard. This OS is full of new and exciting features and is available in two versions. One version is Leopard and the other one is Snow Leopard. The amazing features of these OS are backup programs, boot camp, sharing screen in ichat and time machine. For the purpose of installation one may require any Apple computer such as G4, G5 or any of the Intel processor containing system. Any Intel processor can be used but it should possess at least 512MB space. Next requirement is a DVD wire 7GB space on hard drive and last but not least Mac OS X Leopard DVD.

The first important step is to make a back up copy of all the programs residing in the hard drive in order to refrain from any mishap while the Leopard is being installed in the system. Then pop in the Leopard DVD. You have two choices at this stage either you can boot your computer or wait for the automatic installation of the Mac. Another option is to insert the DVD while the Pc is in the process of running. Then it is time to click “the Mac OS X .app” then immediately click on the large black X appearing on the screen. Select a language when you restart your PC. if you want more information regarding Leopard you can also click on the icon “more information” . On the contrary if you do not require any further information press continue and let the installation progress further. Now it is time to select the drive on which you aim to install the Mac OS X Leopard. For installing the Mac OS X on the Apple computers the ultimate choice of nay user can be “Macintosh HD”. Then click on the install and wait for at least hour or two so that the OS makes its place completely. Once this installation is completed it is time to put the data on the registarion screen. This screen may require any password or some additional information in order to make you an authorize user for this system. However now it is also possible to install Mac Os X Leopard by using a flash drive.

Compatibility of Mac OS with Apple Computers

Mac OS is considered to be most stable operating system which is not a victim of security threats like worms, Malware and viruses. It is compatible to most of the PC’s of the apple like Power PC’s and G3. However, now some of the versions of the Mac OS X are not that compatible with older systems. They are rather designed to match the specification of Intel Processors. Mac OS X V10.5 and Mac OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard are more convenient to use with Apple computers but only if they contain an Intel processors. Intel processors are so advance and smart that they are compatible with the most of the operating systems in the world. Apple’s recent operating systems are an example of extreme technology and hard work as the features are unique and the performance of the OS is remarkable.
