What is public cloud computing
Post by Jawad Ahmad Riaz
About ‘public cloud’:
The public cloud is a service which introduced in order to provide the resources, such as applications and storage are the basic standards of cloud computing. That must be available to the public on the internet, and that makes it easy for the public to access better web browsing to meet their needs. Public cloud computing is a service that is available at free of cost and on the other hand also payable per usage model.
The term ‘public cloud’ is used to specialize between the ‘private cloud’ and the standard model. That is related to the ownership network and data center that is useful in cloud computing technologies as virtualization is one of its examples. A private cloud is managed the organization which works to serve it. But there is a third model also introduces which is maintained by both the internal and external providers, that is known as hybrid cloud.
Benefits of ‘public cloud computing’ service:
There are many advantages of using a public cloud service i-e: it is easy to use and access and inexpensive to set up. The reason of its low cost is that the hardware, application and bandwidth are managed by the providers. It is capable to be climbed up over and to meet the needs. There are no wasted resources because what you use, you pay for that.
To introduce the public cloud first IBM has taken the steps also let the Smartcloud enterprise known in to the space which is specifically created to meet the demands of business. IBM first introduced the Smartcloud in Francisco in April. In an interview the IBM’s vice president of cloud services, named by Ric Telford, identified the key pain points that have been inhibiting broader adoption of cloud computing businesses.
A point of view on cloud computing services can be vary specially among the different organizations as all organizations are differ to each other in their assets, purposes, threats they face and the exposure to the public, although there are very issues which are the causes the difference in companies with each other. A example can be quote regarding this explanation that is when a government organization that is responsible for the data about the individual citizens of the country, definitely has different security objectives. Same like this the security measures of a governmental organization prepares information for public consumption are different because as the other organization deals with the classified data and information for its own personal internal use. From this perspective that every organizations confines its own goals that are different to each other and adopts different strategies to applying them, this is necessary to avoid the risk factors so that they might be able operate in their own best way and the cloud computing helps them to avoid from the possible threats.
Therefore, the set of security measures and its objectives, is a key factor for the decisions about the information technology services and specially for the transition and operation of the organizational resources to public cloud computing and a specially provider services and on the other hand also the arrangements of service. This is not necessary that if a service works for an organization, would be working for an other too. It might be different in operating from the other organizations. And adding more, there are some practical applications, apply to them for the use of cloud computing services as, it is not easy and possible for all organization to protect the all computational resources and its assets at high level and most organizations could not bear the financial burdens. Almost all criteria covers its security issues and cost as well as critically or sensitivity.
