What is network address translator - How network address translator (Nat) works
In the computer networking, there are many technologies that upgrade the life with their beneficial aspects. With the passage of time, these technologies become more advance and powerful and provide many advantages for leading the better and the easiest life. It the field of technology, if we talk about the wireless technology we cannot ignore the components of the wireless technology and also the components and the terms of the computer networking also. One of the important terms of the computer networking is the Network address translation NAT
|
Basically it is defined as the type of technology used in the field of the computer networking in which the information of the network that is gathered at the time of the transmission of data from one place to another is converted. In this, the network address is changed into the data packets of IP address; they are also referred as data gram of IP is called as network address translation (NAT). Network address transmission plays a very important role in the transmission and the main feature of creating such technology is maintain the internet protocol and also monitors the working of the routing devices. It also takes part in controlling the traffic of the network and enhances the transferring of the information between two areas.
Types of NAT
There are several types of NAT that can maintain the IP separately and also do their work accurately on converting the required network address for the sake of the data transmission. Some important types of the network address translation are as follows
How Network Address Translation NAT Works:
For the working of the network address translation different types of components are required that plays an important role in modifying the different types of network addresses into the required IP addresses that used in maintaining the network traffic. The important steps are given below
Required Hardware:
Different type of hardware required for the proper working of the network address translation such as a local area network LAN connection, a routing device called as router and different types of access points that are used in transmission. After successful arrangement, the working of the NAT proceeds towards the next step.
Role of Local Area Network LAN:
Local area network or the LAN plays as vital role in the working of the network address translation because it provide the network for the transmission of data from one place to other and also help in configuring the network and the IP addresses. Therefore, on the whole LAN is the base of the NAT.
Role of Access points:
Access points are used in providing the access to the networked devices to create the networking atmosphere either wired or wirelessly. Access points also required to generate the access control which is used in coding the
modified the addresses.
Role of Router:
The main part that is important for the working of the network address translation to translate the different network addresses to the IP addresses. First the information that is present in the form of different types of data packets or data grams pass through the router gateways. Different type of rules of internet protocol is used in monitoring the required data that is going to be modified. If the data or the network address matches the given criteria, then the router gateways with the help of translator translate the address into the IP address. Then this address moves into the access control panel and here it passed from the access control list and then after further changing it will be modified into the required Internet Protocol IP address. That is the work of network address translation in the field of networking.
