What is Bios - How bios works? - How to update bios
BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System. Generally it is the main part of the computer system that works just before the working or the starting of the operating system. The main function of the BIOS is to check the all basic parts of the computer system at the start up of the computer such as hard drives, processor and different types of connected parts on the mother board. It is installed in every system and used to determine the functions of the different parts of the mother board and central processing unit. BIOS system is quite different from the operating system because operating system works after the computer starts and it works just before it.

How BIOS Works?
The working of the BIOS is quite different from the operating system of the computer because it performs some specific task in a particular manner. Its working depends upon the instructions that are given by the processor of the system. Different types of microprocessors with the help of BIOS can activate the computer system. The major function of the BIOS is to ensure the performance or the working ability of the different parts or the chips of the mother boards or the computer systems and ports also. Optical drives are also involved in the working of the BIOS little bit. Instead of these jobs, it is commonly known as the starter or the operating system of PC in safe hands.
Components of BIOS:
There are different components that make up the BIOS system. But some of the major and the important components that play a vital role in maintaining the BIOS are as follows. The two major components are
BIOS ROM:
The major component of the BIOS system is the BIOS ROM tart is also called as the flash memory. The location of the presence of this part is in the electrical erasable memory which is upgradeable with the help of software solutions and users can also control its interfaces with the help of different software. On the mother board users can easily identify the BIOS ROM because it is placed in the socket that is generally labeled with the name of the manufacturers or the company. Sometimes due to different types of booting factors, BIOS might be corrupted but users can replace it to do the job so.
BIOS CMOS Memory:
CMOS commonly stands for the complementary metal oxide semiconductor. The main purpose if the CMOS memory is to store the non volatile functions or processes of the BIOS system. Operation of this memory is carried out with the help of a battery. Basically it is the component that makes up the circuits on the motherboard that are generally operated with the help of semiconductors. The major advantage of the CMOS is that it is operated on the low battery power as compared to other ones, so it is an ideal solution for the computer system. As latest system needs more working memory so they are completely installed with the CMOS memory.
How to Update the BIOS System?
Different types of steps are used to upgrade the BIOS of the computer system. Some of the steps should be followed by the users to update the BIOS system. These steps are as follows
