What is Network backup

It is common that most of the computers get attacked by viruses or drive is crashed and our valuable data lost.  In this situation there must b any solution of this problem to prevent from loosing our important data. Yes there are now data backup methods in which a system is formed which can maintain the personal electronic files and in case of viruses, bad sector and hacking. The data can be backed up through network backup system.

Why Network Backup Is Necessary?
Network back up is a basic need of the era because now with increasing technology where it is used for good purposes there it also creates some problems too. Like a virus got into the computer and all the files and data washed in this situation network back up is the best solution.

Methods Of Network Backups:
There are many methods of network methods in which these two are common.

Complete Backup:
The complete back up is the basic of all other backups. In this back up all the files and folders are selected for the back up. This method is simple but it takes more time than the other back up methods and extra storage space on the back up media is required but it gives quickest time in storing media. The only advantage with full backup mechanism is that the restoration process takes minimum time. The disadvantages are that the backup process is very time consuming and the storage space requirements are quite high.
Full backups are often restricted to a weekly or monthly schedule. If you have enough time than full back ups are best in providing data protection. A single backup can provide the ability to completely restore all backed-up files. It is best to build full back ups all the times because these back ups are very completed and self-reliant. Full back ups are generally limited to a week or a month. Before making major planned changes in the system full backup must be performed because there are more security concerns in it.

Advantages:
Restoring is the fastest in this method.

Disadvantages:
Apparently it seems that the complete back is the best back up among others still it has some disadvantages like

  1. Backing up is the slowest
  2. The storage space requirements are the highest compared to incremental backup or differential backup.

Incremental Backup:
Incremental backup system is very fast back up system and it requires very low storage space in the back up media. In this system incremental backup is a backup of every file on a file system which has changed since the last backup. But still there is a problem that these back ups take a lot of time and require many tapes to restore media. Mostly the backups are used in a situation where back up time is very restricted and backup storage media is highly constrained. Mostly full backup and a differential backup give good result. Like if a full back up is performed on Monday with incremental back ups every night and a virus gets in or it crushes on Friday then it will be needed to restore the full back up from Monday with the incremental backups of Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. On the other hand if a full back up is performed on Monday and a differential every night so if in these days the system crashes on Friday then only the full back up from Monday and differential backup from Thursday is required.

Advantages:

  1. Backing up is the fastest than other back up methods.
  2. The storage space requirements are the lowest in this method.

Disadvantages:

  1. Restoring is very slow.
