Installing windows server 2003


 Windows server 2003 is one of the successful windows with improvements and manageability. It supports advance features in office and in installation process. It is very easy to install windows server. It supports a text-based DOS window while Windows is running.

 

Installing windows server 2003:
Following is the complete guide to install windows server 2003. It is very easy by following procedure.

 

  1. System Requirement:

                                 First check the system requirements to install windows server 2003. Processor with at least 133-mhz is required but 550 MHz is recommended. Ram at least 128 and maximum 4 GB. Hard drive at least 1.2 is required for the installation of the network and 3 GB for the installation of the CD.

 

  1. Booting And System Configuration:

                                                       First step is to boot the computer by inserting the windows server 2003. It gives two options, boot from hard disk or boot from CD room, choose the CD room option. Then a window appears which shows two options “Press ENTER to continue setup or press F3 to stop setup or reboot. You have to press ENTER.

 

  1. Setup Starting Window:

                                   When you press enter a new window will open with the options to continue setup, to quit the installation process or to repair the previous installed process now press enter to start the installation process and you can also choose F3 to quit or “R” to repair the previous.

 

  1. Windows Registration And Partition:

                                                          In the next step the window will show a message to press F8 to agree with the windows terms and condition and press Esc to disagree if you pressed Esc then the process will quit. If you proceed, then partition building option will appear if you want to go with the previous you can skip the step, to install on the selected press enter and press D to delete and make a new.

  1. If No Previous Partitions Defined:

                                                       If there are no previous partitions then press “C” to create as many partitions as you want according to your hard drive

 

  1. Formatting He Partitions:

                                           The operating system of 2003 only supports NTFS to format the partition if the partition is not formatted then many folders and security features of many files will not be available. If you are using dual boot system then the local information becomes unable to read by the previous operating system. But it happens only in 9x and windows Me. Press ENTER to confirm the new partition to continue the setup or press Esc to quit setup.

 

  1. Copying Windows Files:

                                               After preceding the procedure the operating system starts copying the system windows files and telling about the new added features and the benefits. It takes about more than 30 minutes let it copy sit back and take some rest until it gives further confirmations.
After that the window will give option to choose the language and your region. The next screen will contain a command to enter the organizational name, then enter the product key and press enter.

  1. Date, Time And User Name:

                                                         On the next screen put your computer name of your choice and set a password it must be strong, adjust the accurate time and date and press enter.

 

  1. Installation Completed:

                                     Now after continuing the system will again start copying remaining files, registering components, completing start menu items and saves setting. Then the blue back ground will appear and counting will start wait until it itself restarts or press enter if you can not wait. After that the window will appear congratulation setup completed. Now you can use it.
