High speed cable internet VS Dsl - Dsl Vs Cable internet
High Speed Internet Cable:
In the field of networking there are many devices that are used for surfing the internet for the sake of getting knowledge or the required information. One of these devices is the high speed internet cable. It is defined as the cable that is used for the access of the internet at a very high speed and also interlinked or directly connected to the personal computer is called as high speed internet cable. This cable is fiber optics in nature. It is also called as cable modem because it is connected to your personal computer with the help of modem.

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line):
DSL stands for the Digital Subscriber Line. It is such type of technology that is used to carry on the data transmission over different ranges with the help of different types of wires that spread by the different types telephone companies for the sake of access of internet with the help of attachment with the modem of the personal computer is refereed as the DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). Some times is also called as the Digital Subscriber Loop because it forms a loop like structure between the personal computer and the server or the telephone company.
Comparison between Cable and DSL:
Comparison between the high speed internet cable and the DSL is discussed under the light of different types of postulates inn which some favors the technology and some are the cons of the same technology. Some important comparable points of both the technologies are as follows
Features |
High Speed Internet |
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) |
Networking Performance |
Cables are used for the sake of access of the internet over the networking media. They are faster in nature as compared to other devices used for the internet access. It is not necessary to establish a internet connection for cables because they are always on. |
If we discuss about the DSL, it also have the same function that is used for the access of the internet for the sake of gathering different types of information at a good speed but not more then cable. But for the access of internet through DSL requires the proper establishment of connection. |
Configuration |
Configuration of the high speed internet cable requires two main devices one is client other is server. The cable stars from the server called as Attic and connect to the modem of the personal computer simple. |
On the other hand configuration of the DSL is little bit complicated as compared to cable modem. The only thing that is that is required for the installation of the DSL is the phone line which directly connected to the modem or the LAN card of your system. |
Speed of Working |
If we talk about the high speed internet cable, as it is fact from its name that is has quite higher speed as compared ton other devices. The downloading speed of the cable ranging from 4 Mbps to 16Mbps and uploading speed is 384 kbps to 1.5 Mbps. |
DSL is quite slower as compared to high speed internet cable services. Its downloading speed ranging from 768 Kbps to 6 Mbps and uploading speed is128 Kbps to 768 Kbps. |
Cost Difference and Popularity:
If we discussed the technical aspects of both the technologies, both are very popular among the people of present era because with the help of both technologies we are able to run different types of important programs. Comparison between the costs is the cable net is almost free but we need large money to install the DSL.
Security:
Both technologies provide the safe networking with the help of different type of antivirus and other software. Also help in detecting spy wares etc.
